The Government of Tamil Nadu embarked on an ambitious project in 1999 to provide computer education in all the Higher Secondary Schools of the State.
Electronics Corporation of Tamil Nadu (ELCOT), the nodal agency of the Tamil Nadu Government for promoting IT Industry in Tamil Nadu and spearheaded the project and came up with the innovative idea of implementing the project with private partnership as a Build, Operate, Transfer (BOT) model.
Training at Govt. school centers
Through a rigorous and transparent process of technical and commercial evaluation, EVERONN was chosen to set up computer labs and provides teaching services in 349 of the Government Higher Secondary Schools.
Each computer lab is equipped with 10 Pentium III computers, 2 printers, UPS, air conditioner, appropriate furniture and licensed software.
Two teachers are provided for each school and classes are taken for students of standard 9 to 12.
Students of standard 12 are prepared for the Higher Secondary Board Examinations in Computer Science.
The Government School Teachers are given computer awareness programs.

For Everonn, bagging this contract and successful implementation of the project was a great achievement and a turning point. It propelled the growth of Everonn and today Everonn has earned a firm place among the big league in the IT training industry in India.
The success of the Tamil Nadu Model prompted several other state governments throughout India to adopt similar models for implementation of IT education in their schools.
Medical Colleges
Everonn had set up computer centers in all the Government Medical Colleges of Tamil Nadu. The project was fashioned to impart Computer Education and Medical IT for the 2nd year Medical students as a part of their curriculum.
Training at Madras Medical College, Chennai
The students are trained in basics of computer, Windows 95/98 & NT, MS-Office, multimedia and also in Medical Application software modules to help them gain knowledge of using the Information Technology in their field.
Apart from this the students and staff members are given access to Internet, which is a rich source of medical information. Computers are being effectively used to create presentation slides for their seminars with the expert guidance of the Faculty members. Moreover the students are allotted 2 projects in Database management and Electronic Presentation so as to have a practical exposure of using the Computer skills effectively in their field of Medical Science.
